Caïpir

Caïpir is a multidisciplinary project that Damián Birbrier created to explore in collaboration with the author Hélder Agostini the legends and traditions of their roots, the caipiras. The space is set by the music originally improvised by Damián and his music collaborators, and developed into a soundtrack for the narrative story told by Hélder.

Into a world where the sacred flower trees of Ipês are extinct, their only hope to worship it is by the Ipê comet that crosses the sky every 42 years. The sky is carved with the yellow trail of petals left by the comet.
