Damián Birbrier Quarteto

This quartet aims for liberty through open dialogue. As an empty canvas, we use our sounds in combination to create the images that give life to our interactions. Very often, words are used to guide our ideas and concepts withing the song's frame and every sound is a colorful brush stroke to set the new created space.

Free improvisation is the heart of our music and the challenge is to break any paradigm that is put in front of us. Impromptu (2015, Tratore) was produced to be a live album, for the conclusion of a chapter in our lives. Played at the auditorium of the Arts Institute of the University of Campinas, Unicamp, Brazil. This is where everything started and the home for those four musicians for many years.

Lead by Damián Birbrier in the  saxophones, the group is composed with the piano of Vinicius Gomes, the bass of Pedro Destro, and at the drums Felipe Trez.
